Hail and Heavy Rain Lash Northern Emirates; Abu Dhabi Issues Weather Alert
By Abu Dhabi Desk

Authorities across the UAE urged residents to stay cautious on Tuesday as hail and heavy rain struck parts of the Northern Emirates, with strong winds and dust expected to persist in some areas until the evening.
Hail and Rain in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah
Storm Centre, a widely followed online weather-tracking platform, posted videos showing hail and rainfall in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said gusty winds over northern, eastern and southern areas could reach speeds of up to 45 kilometres per hour, kicking up dust and reducing visibility. The weather bureau stated that the alert would remain in force until at least 9pm.
The warning comes during a recent spell of unsettled weather, particularly affecting the Northern Emirates.
Police Urge Caution on Roads
Abu Dhabi Police, in a safety message posted on social media, called on drivers to exercise caution during periods of rain. The force reminded motorists to follow variable speed limits displayed on road signs when weather conditions deteriorate.
Forecast: More Rain, but Temperatures Stay High
The NCM’s online weather map indicates that heavy rain is expected in Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Al Ain through Thursday.
Despite the unstable autumn conditions, temperatures across the Emirates will remain high in the coming days. The weather bureau predicts daytime highs in the mid-to-high 30s Celsius in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai over the next five days, and temperatures could reach 40°C in Al Ain and remote desert areas of Abu Dhabi.
According to the NCM’s latest monthly weather summary, the UAE’s average daily temperature for October stands at 29.7°C. However, the mercury has climbed this month, with the El Niño weather phenomenon delaying the onset of cooler autumn weather.
