UAE Forecast Shows Scattered Showers and Humid Mornings Ahead

Overview

The National Centre of Meteorology expects afternoon showers across parts of the UAE, accompanied by humid mornings and the possibility of fog. The weather will stay changeable through the week, with rain likely in various regions from Sunday to Thursday. On Sunday afternoon, showers are likely to concentrate in eastern districts, then may extend to inland and western zones from Monday to Wednesday. By Thursday, the probability of rain is forecast to move westward. This outlook follows several days of rain already recorded in parts of the Emirates.

Daily Details

On Sunday, October 18, the sky will be fair to partly cloudy, with possible cloud buildup over eastern areas in the afternoon that could bring rain. Humidity is set to rise overnight and into the morning, raising the chance of fog or mist in certain coastal and inland spots. Monday, October 19, may see afternoon showers spreading from the east into inland and western districts. A similar pattern is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, when developing clouds could produce additional rain. By Thursday, October 22, convective cloud formation is projected to shift westward, making afternoon showers possible in those areas. Even with the rain prospects, most of the UAE should see fair to partly cloudy conditions for the remainder of the week.

Wind and Sea Conditions

Winds are forecast to stay light to moderate for most of the week, ranging from 10 to 25km/h, but may gust up to 50km/h during active cloud periods. Such stronger winds could lift dust in affected zones. Wind direction is expected to shift from southeasterly to northwesterly on several days, though conditions may vary as the week advances. The Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are predicted to remain slight throughout the outlook.

Temperature Outlook

For Sunday, the forecast calls for a high of 35°C in Dubai and 37°C in Abu Dhabi, with a low of 27°C in each emirate. The highest temperature recorded in the UAE on Saturday was 41.6°C in Sweihan, Al Ain, at 2.30pm. Photo: Getty Images
